EuraHGri - Jean Monnet Teacher Training

In a context where young people may feel disconnected from Europe, particularly in agricultural and rural areas where EU initiatives are sometimes misunderstood, the EuraHGri project—supported by the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet programme and coordinated by the ENSFEA—aims to strengthen the teaching and understanding of the principles of the European project and European policies among students in the French agricultural education system.

The project aims to work with History and Geography teachers to develop and disseminate tailored and innovative teaching resources with a view to helping teachers to convey the opportunities that the European Union offers in the daily lives of young people in rural areas.

By opening a window for learners onto the world beyond their local environment, EuraHGri thus contributes to building a more united and inclusive Europe, open to new perspectives.

Main objectives:

  • Better meeting teachers’ needs: Assessing and understanding needs in order to provide teachers with tailored teaching resources that facilitate the teaching of European Union institutions and policies in agricultural training establishments.
  • Promoting European citizenship: Raising awareness among young people in rural areas of the impact of European policies and showing them how these contribute to their well-being and that of their local areas.
  • Opening up new perspectives: Developing young people’s capacity for action and citizenship within the framework of the European project.
